The U.S. U-23 team used goals by Brek Shea and Michael Stephens to beat the Atlanta Silverbacks Sunday.

Caleb Porter's team looks set to begin Olympic Qualifying on Thursday, a 3-0 win over the NASL team. FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea got the scoring started 31 minutes in, firing in a shot from the right corner of the box. Shea would add his second just before half time, getting behind the defense and beating the goalkeeper one on one.

Later in the game, Mainz midfielder Jared Jeffrey made a run through the Silverbacks' half of the field before finding Michael Stephens, playing him a ball that only required one touch to push past the goalkeeper.

The Silverbacks, who are in their pre-season, played with an experimental lineup including trialists.

The final roster for the Qualifying tournament will be announced tomorrow, and the first game will be against Cuba on Thursday.
