Sean Cunningham, Ricardo Clark and Stabæk recorded a morale-boosting win, while Sebastian Troupe and Bærum advanced in the Norwegian Cup.

Lommedalen IL 0 - 3 Stabæk IF

After early struggles in the Tippeligaen, Stabæk advanced past the first round with its win over Lommedalen.

American defender Sean Cunningham and midfielder Ricardo Clark started for Stabæk.

Stabæk's Fredrik Brustad opened up the scoring in the 24th minute, when pick received a pass from Mads Stokkelien that left him one-on-one with Lommedalen goalkeeper Halvard Kolltveit. Brustad easily put the ball in the corner to give Stabæk the lead.

In the 55th minute, Brustad doubled Stabæk's lead, when from 22 yards out he curled a shot pass Kolltveit and into the corner of the net.

Christer Kleiven added another goal for Stabæk in the 88th, as he picked up the rebound from Franck Boli and scored from 16 yards out into an empty net.

Stabæk returns to Tippeligaen action Friday against Rosenborg.

Sprint-Jeløy SK 0 - 2 Mjøndalen IF

Mjøndalen avoided a first round upset when the team faced fourth division side Sprint-Jeløy Tuesday night.

American Kyle Helton started and played the entire game, while defender Rhett Bernstein was an unused substitute for Mjøndalen.

After a first half which saw neither team score, Mjøndalen quickly changed that with two goals within five minutes early in the second half.

Knut Rønningene headed in a free kick in the 55th minute, while Pål Alexander Kirkevold scored off a cross from the left to put the game out of reach in the 60th minute.

Mjøndalen returns to Adeccoligaen action Sunday at Tromsdalen.

Drammen FK 0 - 2 Bærum SK

Bærum recorded its first win of 2012 in the first round of the Norwegian Cup against Drammen.

American defender Sebastian Troupe started and played the full 90 minutes at right back for Bærum.

After a scoreless first half, two substitutes took Bærum over the top. The first goal came from Andreas Aalbu in the 63rd minute, while the second goal came from Rozhat Shaswari in the 76th minute.

Bærum returns to action Sunday when the team travels to Hødd.


American winger Joshua Gatt did not dress for Molde's 4-0 win over fourth-division side Sunndal.

American goalkeeper Steve Clark made the bench but did not play, while forward Kenneth di Vita Jensen did not make the lineup for Hønefoss in its 6-1 win over Røa.
