PREVIEW: WEEKEND SWEDISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRENDAN WIMBERLY - Thursday, May 10, 2012
Brian Edwards and Degerfors look to build on the momentum of their first win of the season while Hammarby look to stay on top of the standings.

IK Brage - Ljungskile SK

Patrick Hopkins and Steffen Vroom both figure to start for Ljungskile when they travel to face Brage this weekend.

Ljungskile have recovered from a tough start to win their last two matches while Brage took a step back last week, losing to previously pointless Degerfors.

Ljungskile's tough win over Brommapojakrna last week took its toll as both Aleksandar Kitic and Kenny Pavey will miss this weekend's match due to suspension.

Brage do not face any suspensions but both Jesper Menden and Calle Birch will miss the match due to injuries.

Varberg BoIS - Degerfors IF

Brian Edwards and Degerfors look to build on their first win of the season last week when they travel to face Varberg.

While Varberg has yet to score multiple goals in a game this season, Edwards has only managed to allow a single goal once this season and is last in the Superretan in goals allowed thus far.

Thommie Persson will be missing from action this week for Varberg due to a red card he acquired in last weeks draw against Hammarby, but figures to be the only omission for either team.

Halmstad BK - Jonkopings Sodra IF

Ryan Miller should start in his typical Right Back slot for Halmstad this weekend when they host Jonkopings.

Jonkopings are currently sitting at third in the table despite drawing their last two matches. Halmstad are sitting seventh in the table and are certainly expecting more of themselves as they were viewed by many as a promotion favorite before the season began.

Jonkopings will be without both Daryl Smilie and Par Cederqvist who were both shown red cards in last weeks match against Angelholm. Andre Callsir will be a match day decision for Jonkopings. Halmstad are not missing any key players due to injury or suspension.

IFK Varnamo - Hammarby IF

Gregg Berhalter's Hammarby side travel to face Varnamo this weekend.

While Hammarby sit on top of the table with four wins and one draw Varnamo are in last place in the Superettan with only one point to show from their first five matches.

Baggio Husidic will almost certainty start for Hammarby in midfield while Billy Schuler is a candidate for the starting lineup, but will most likely be used as an attacking option off the bench.

Neither team are facing any major deficiencies in the way of injuries or suspension.
