MATHEW WAGNER - Saturday, May 12, 2012
Sean Cunningham faces his parent team when Josh Gatt and Molde travel to Stabæk, while Steve Clark, Kenneth di Vita Jensen and Hønefoss hope to return to their winning ways against Odd Grenland.
Stabæk IF - Molde FK
In a matchup between Sean Cunningham's current and parent teams, Stabæk hosts defending champion Molde Saturday.
Americans Cunningham and Ricardo Clark should start at center back and in the midfield, while winger Josh Gatt should feature for Molde.
Molde sent Cunningham on loan to Stabæk before the beginning of the season in order to gain some playing time, and the U.S. Under-20 defender has started every game so far for Stabæk.
That time has not been the most successful for Stabæk, who suffered financial difficulties over the offseason and unloaded a lot of its players. The results have reflected that so far, riding a six-game losing streak in Tippeligaen play.
It hasn't been smooth sailing for Molde this season either. The team has failed to pick up a point away from home in three matches thus far and needed to go to extra time in order to beat third division side Verdal in the Norwegian Cup Wednesday.
Stabæk will be without forward Torstein Andersen Aase, and Molde will be without midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo and defender Borre Stenslid.
Hønefoss BK - Odd Grenland Skien
Hønefoss will look to put its first loss of the Tippeligaen season behind it when Odd Grenland comes to town Sunday.
American goalkeeper Steve Clark will start for Hønefoss, while striker Kenneth di Vita Jensen will look to make the squad.
An own goal in the 42nd minute downed Hønefoss last Sunday against fellow promotion team Sandnes Ulf, ending the team's unbeaten streak to Tippeligaen play. The goal was also only the third allowed by Clark through seven matches, which leads the Norwegian top division.
Now, Hønefoss faces 10th place Odd Grenland, who comes into the match with a three-game unbeaten streak of its own.
Hønefoss will be without defender Vegar Gjermundstad and forward Roope Riski. Odd Grenland will be without defenders Fredrik Semb and Emil Jonassen, midfielder Magnus Lekven and forward Mattias Andersson.
Bærum SK - Tromsdalen UIL
Bærum looks to record its first win of the season against Tromsdalen Sunday.
American defender Sebastian Troupe should start somewhere in the back line for Bærum.
Bærum is tied for the most porous defense in the Adeccoligaen, allowing three goals per game so far. It is one of the major reasons Bærum sits in last place, albeit having two games in hand.
The team also crashed out of the Norwegian Cup Wednesday, when the team gave up five goals to third division team Asker.
Bærum will be without forward Thomas Finstad, defender Morten Ruud Irgens and midfielder Daniel Berg. Tromsdalen is not reporting any injuries.
American duo Kyle Helton and Rhett Bernstein should start in defense for Mjøndalen when it takes on Hødd Sunday evening
