MATHEW WAGNER - Monday, May 28, 2012
Josh Gatt and Molde face off against Steve Clark, Kenneth di Vita Jensen and Hønefoss in a matchup of two top six teams.
Hønefoss BK - Molde FK
It's a matchup of the league's best offense and defense when Molde travels to Hønefoss Monday evening.
American winger Joshua Gatt should start for Molde. American goalkeeper Steve Clark should start in net and forward Kenneth di Vita Jensen should make the squad for Hønefoss.
Hønefoss has shocked the Tippeligaen having been promoted. Through 11 games, the team's collected 17 points and sits in sixth place.
The defense and the goalkeeping of Clark has been a big factor in Hønefoss' hot start to the season, allowing a league best eight goals so far. Clark has recorded six shutouts and has allowed multiple goals in a match one time - a 4-1 loss to Odd Grenland on May 13th.
Molde, meanwhile, started its title defense sluggishly, losing three of its first six games, but is now riding a five-game winning streak. The offense has come alive, accruing 16 goals over the winning streak. The team has scored a league-best 22 goals.
Hønefoss is not reporting any injuries at this time but will be without defender Kristjan Orn Sigurdsson due to a red card he picked up in Hønefoss' 1-1 tie at Haugesund Thursday.
Molde will be without midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo and defender Borre Stenslid.
Stabæk IF - Lillestrøm SK
Stabæk hopes to build some sort of momentum heading into the summer break when Lillestrøm comes to town.
Americans Sean Cunningham and Ricardo Clark should start for Stabæk in central defense and central midfield, respectively.
Stabæk has sputtered out of the gates, following a tumultuous offseason that saw many of its players leave because of financial difficulties. The team has picked up only one point in its first 10 matches and is riding a nine-game losing streak into Monday's game.
Wednesday's game left Stabæk with a sour taste in the team's mouth. After frustrating Viking for most of the game, Stabæk gave up a goal in the 87th minute to continue its struggles.
Lillestrøm also has struggled to start the season, but a three-game unbeaten streak sees the team 10 points ahead of Stabæk and in 14th place.
Stabæk is not reporting any injuries at this time.
Lillestrøm will be without forward Arild Sundgot and midfielder Petter Vaagan Moen. Forward Fredrik Gulbrandsen, midfielder Erik Midtgarden and defenders Steinar Pedersen and Stian Ringstad are questionable.
Sarpsborg 08 FF - Bærum SK
Bærum looks to end a five-game skid when it travels to Sarpsborg 08 Monday.
American defender Sebastian Troupe should start in the back line for Bærum after missing Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Mjøndalen.
After earning promotion into the Adeccoligaen, Bærum finds itself sitting in last place with two points through seven games. The team is tied for the most goals allowed in the Norwegian second division (18).
Bærum will have its hands full at Sarpsborg, who has won four of its last five games. In its last three games, Sarpsborg has totaled eight goals alone.
Bærum will be without goalkeeper Magnus Hjulstad because of a concussion. Sarpsborg 08 is not reporting any injuries at this time.
American defensive duo of Rhett Bernstein and Kyle Helton should start for Mjøndalen when the team takes on HamKam.
