PREVIEW: WEEKEND SWEDISH ACTION
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
BRENDAN WIMBERLY - Sunday, June 17, 2012
There should be Americans in each net when Degerfors travel to take on Angelholm. Hammarby host Ljungskile in another match that could potentially feature four Americans.

Hammarby IF - Ljungskile SK

There could be four Americans on the field as Gregg Berhalter and his Hammarby side will hope to gather all points when they host Ljungskile this weekend.

Billy Schuler and Baggio Husidic should both start for Hammarby while Patrick Hopkins and Steffen Vroom hope to both see the field for Ljungskile. Hopkins is an assured starter in the center of Ljungskile's defense, but Vroom hasn't played in two weeks due to an injury and the strikers' status is still uncertain for this weekend.

Hammarby will be without the services of first choice Keeper Markus Sandberg due to yellow card accumulation.

IFK Varnamo - Halmstad BK

Ryan Miller will surely start at Right Back for Halmstad as they travel to take on Varnamo.

Halmstad sit fourth in the Superettan standings, one point behind Brommapojkarna and Hammarby, but have a game in hand on both those squads.

Varnamo have struggled mightily this season, with only five points for 11 matches, only avoiding last place by virtue of goal differential.

Miller will be under pressure to be especially solid this week as Halmstad are reeling with injuries in defense. Goalkeeper Kalle Johnsson, Central Defender Micke Svensson and Left Back Christian Jardler will all miss the match due to injury.

On the other hand, Varnamo aren't missing any significant squad member due to injury and will hope to pick up points in an effort to ascend up the standings.

Angelholm FF - Degerfors IF

Lestwer Dewee is making his return to Angelholms matchday 18 when they host Degerfors this weekend. The Texas-born striker has been out of the lineup for over a month due to injury.

In addition to Dewee, Matt Pydrowski will start in net for Angelholms as he hopes to improve on last weekends dismal display when he allowed four goals against Brommapojkarna.

Brian Edwards should return to Degerfors net after his replacement Jonas Bohlin allowed seven goals in two matches since Edwards drew a red card and served the subsequent suspension.

Neither team are facing any injuries which figure to remove anyone from consideration for the match.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
