BRENDAN WIMBERLY - Monday, August 13, 2012
Brian Edwards and his Degerfors teammates will have to bring their game when they travel to face Varnamo on Monday.

Though Varnamo started extremely slow this season, they have picked up points in each of their last four games, including a 4-0 demolition of fourth place Angelholm last week.

Degerfors have been stuck in a string of complacent results recently. Although they have only lost once in their last six games, they've only managed one win in that span as well. DIF must be particularly disappointed in having blown to 2-0 in the second half each of the last two weeks.

A win by a two or more goal margin would see Degerfors jump from 14th to 12th place which would take them out of the relegation zone for the first time all season, while a loss by 3 or more goals would allow Varnamo to leapfrog their opponents, bringing both sides level on points and goal differential.

Degerfors are reporting that Alexander Andersson will miss the match while Varnamo have confirmed the absence of starting goalkeeper Bjorn Akesson due to a muscle strain. Additionally for Varnamo, Carlos Gaette Moggia will miss the match due to yellow card accumulation.
