RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
JOHN KRETLOW - Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City hope to rebound after a frustrating weekend against Tim Ream's Bolton, while Frank Simek and Carlisle United look to climb the standings with a win against Crewe Alexandria.

Birmingham City - Bolton Wanderers

Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City host Tim Ream and Bolton Wanderers in midweek Championship action.

Spector has been a regular starter of late and should be in the lineup, while teammate Will Packwood hopes to make the game day roster.

Ream did not see the field this weekend but could see action on Tuesday.

The Blues are coming off a tough draw against Nottingham Forest, as they had a two-goal lead and gave it up in the second half. Birmingham are still near the bottom of the table and will need a win to start climbing the standings.

Bolton beat Watford this weekend, breaking their three game winless skid. They are in the middle of the standings and hope to make it two wins in a row against the Blues.

Birmingham City look to be without Stephen Carr and Darren Ambrose, while Bolton's David Ngog is back from injury.

Carlisle United - Crewe Alexandria

Frank Simek and Carlisle United host Crewe Alexandria in midweek League One play.

Simek is a regular starter and should be in the lineup for the Cumbrians.

Carlisle is coming off a tough draw against Swindon Town. The Cumbrians had two leads in the game but could not garner the three points. They hope to improve and climb the standings on Tuesday.

Crewe is unbeaten in their last three games and looking to keep it that way with a win against the Cumbrians. They drew with Stevenage this weekend but hope for a better result in the midweek.
