BRENDAN WIMBERLY - Thursday, September 27, 2012
AZ look to put an underachieving start to the Eredivisie season aside this weekend when Jozy Altidore and company kick off their Dutch Cup campaign against second division Veendam.

Although Altidore has been a star for his team thus far with his seven goals in six games, AZ has stumbled out of the gate after finishing fourth in the Eredivisie last season. With only three wins out of their first seven games, AZ must improve if they wish to recreate last season's success.

Veendam haven't exactly burst out of the gate this season either. After barely managing to not get relegated out of the Eerste Divisie last year, Veendam have lost four of their first six games this season and may have another fight on their hands.

Neither side are reporting any injuries for the game and should trot their best teams onto the field.
