Ashdod 2-0 Ironi Kiryat Shmona
The free fall continues for Bryan Gerzicich and Kiryat Schmona continues as they fell to league leading Ashdod on Saturday. Kiryat Schomna extends their winless streak to six matches.
The back and forth match remained scoreless until the 79th minute when a handball inside the box on Lior Levi gave Ashdod a penalty. Dmitry Mkriib calmly slotted it past the keeper, who guessed correctly and dove to his left, but was unable to stop it.
Ashdod's second goal was a result of sloppy pass in defense, which lead to a counter attack. Laszlo Mancha found himself all alone in front of net and tapped the cross into the net and ensured Ashdod's stay atop the Israel League standings. The defending Israeli League champions fell to ninth place with the loss.
Kiryat Shmona's next match is away to Sparta Prague in Europa League group action on Thursday. They currently sit in third position with one point.
Leonard Krupnik was not included in Maccabi Netyana's lineup as they drew 1-1 on the road against Hapoel Ramat Gan.
Ryan Adeleye did not feature in Hapoel Be'er Sheva's 0-0 tie with Hapoel Haifa. The New Jersey native is still awaiting his first game action of the year.
