BRENDAN WIMBERLY - Friday, October 26, 2012
Jozy Altidore should be back on the field this weekend after serving a red card suspension last week while Charles Kazlauskas and Helmond look to get back to their winning ways.
Vitesse Arnhem - AZ Alkmaar
Jozy Altidore should return to action for AZ against Vitesse on Sunday.
After serving a suspension last week for the red card he received before the international break, Altidore hopes to pick up where he left off following his lengthy hiatus. The hulking Floridian trails only Vitesse's Wilfried Bony in goals scored thus far in the Eredivisie.
AZ have struggled mightily of late, with only nine points through nine games which has them at 13th place in the 18-team league. Vitesse have been excelling on the other hand, currently holding an undefeated record while sitting third in the league with 21 points.
Although AZ are bolstered by the return of Altidore and Adam Maher after being suspended last weekend, they are still missing a few key contributors due to injury in the form of midfielders Erik Falkenburg and Maarten Martens.
Renato Ibarra and Frank van der Struijk are out injured for Vitesse.
FC Emmen - Helmond Sport
Charles Kazlauskas and Helmond take on FC Emmen as they look for their first win since mid-September.
Still in third place in the Eerste Divisie, Helmond has been mired in a stretch of mediocrity recently with three draws and one loss in their last four league matches.
Top scorers Emrullah Guvenc and Sebastian Stachnik both missed last week's match against Go Ahead Eagles as well as Junior Siers, Pepijn Veerman and Aart Verberne.
Helmond have yet to supply information regarding their status this week aside from Verberne who's out for the year. Zarko Grabovac is suspended for the guests.
Emmen are missing Jorrit Art and Mauricio Mazzetti for Friday's match.
