Michael Bradley and AS Roma fended off a pesky effort by newbies Torino Monday night, leaving it late to claim all three points.

Bradley made his fourth consecutive start for the Giallorossi Monday night, going the distance between young wingers Miralem Pjanic and Alessandro Florenzi.

Roma had plenty of the ball in the first 45, but found it difficult to translate aesthetic supremacy into tangible dominance. All Roma had to show for their efforts was a scant few half chances before the halftime whistle blew.

The Romans were finally able to break the deadlock in the 70th minute, as a clumsy challenge by two Torino defenders brought down Brazilian Marquinho in the box. Daniel Oswaldo stepped up and sidefooted the ball into goal.

Roma sealed the victory four minutes from time as Pjanic collected the ball outside the box and whipped in a shot that took a major deflection off of Alessandro Gazzi, leaving the keeper no chance to parry.

With the victory, the Romans leapfrogged both Catania and Atalanta to take sixth place with 20 points. Bradley and Roma will look to make it two in a row as they travel to Abruzzo to take on Pescara Saturday afternoon.
