RODRIGUES HOPEFUL TO RETURN ON SUNDAY
RECAPS
EXTRA TIME
NICK LEYDEN - Wednesday, January 23, 2013
Steven Silva Rodrigues is in a race to be fit for Leixoes' matchup with last place Trofense on Sunday.

The dependable fullback has played in 19 games for Leixoes this year, forming part of the second division's strongest backlines, but he was forced off the field after only 28 minutes in a road victory against Maritimo B two weeks ago

"It was a shame I had left the game early," he told YA. "It wasn't anything serious, just a muscle cramp."

With Leixoes preparing to host Atletico on 1/20, Steven is cautiously optimistic about being ready to play.

"I hope to be OK to return to playing [this weekend]," Steven said.

Leixoes is currently in ninth place, but the standings in Portugal's second tier, the Liga de Honra remain tight with just two points separating them from fifth place.
