Bryan Gerzicich and Ironi Kiryat Shmona continued the drop down the standings with a scoreless draw with Ashdod on Saturday.

Ashdod - Ironi Kiryat Shmona

The struggling Blue Lions could not muster a goal for the second straight match and now find themselves in eighth place in the league with just six matches left. The offensive drought has seen them only score once in their last four matches.

The best chance of the match came in the sixth minute when a Sintiyahu Salalik shot rocketed off the crossbar and was cleared by the Ashdod defense. In the 30th minute, Adrian Rochet also had a ball strike the Ashdod post and Kiryat Shmona's offensive struggles continued. Gerzicich played 79 minutes in his 14th appearance of the season.

Kiryat Shmona's next match will see them face second division Hapoel Herzliya on Wednesday in the State Cup. Next Saturday the Blue Lions will travel to 14th place Hapoel Acre.

Notes

Leonard Krupnik did not play as Maccabi Netanya drew with Hapoel Ramat Gan.
