Bryan Gerzicich and Ironi Kiryat Shmona rescued a draw in Sunday's matchup at Hapoel Tel Aviv as the defending champs kept their slim repeat hopes alive.

Hapoel Kiryat Shmona 1 - 1 Hapoel Tel Aviv

The game was goalless until the 84th minute when the hosts thought they had done enough for the three points. Salim Toama finally broke through the Blue Lion defense and put Tel Aviv on top.

However, Kiryat Shmona came back, as they have had to do so often this season and equalized in the 89th minute when Ahmad Abed headed home a beautiful cross from Elad Gabai.

The match saw the defending champions continue their point's streak to five and in the playoff hunt in fifth place with 34 points.

Only three matches remain for Gerzicich and Kiryat Shmona and a big test awaits them next Saturday when they welcome fourth place Bnei Yehuda to Northern Israel.

Notes

Leonard Krupnik did not play as Maccabi Netanya drew with Ironi Ramat HaSharon 0-0 this weekend.
