Maurice Edu and Bursaspor fell at Gaziantepspor on Friday and the American was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in three minutes late in the game.

The loss ended Bursaspor's four match points streak but sees them remain in fourth position in the
Süper Lig.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Bursaspor goalie Scott Carson tried to play a back pass 40 yards from goal and Darvydas Šernas rather easily stole the ball, outran Carson and scored.

However, Pablo Batalla tied the game in the 39th minute when he headed in a cross to notch a goal in three consecutive game.

Things would turn contentious for Bursaspor in the second half. The referee clearly missed a card-worthy tackle on Batalla and a clear handball on a free kick. A Gaziantepspor player also drew a yellow card from Bursa defender Ibrahim Ozturk and a free kick when he appeared to take a dive following a high elbow.

The ensuing free kick was Bursaspor's undoing. The free kick was about 10 yards outside the box and Edu was judged to have handled the ball when the ball struck the wall in the penalty area. Edu was issued a yellow card in the 77th minute and Cenk Tosun beat Carson to the left.

Edu then made a studs up challenge in the 80th minute, connected with the defender's knee and not the ball and was ejected from the match. Edu will miss next week's match league match against Sivasspor. Incidentally, Bursaspor will also play Sivasspor in Cup play on Thursday.
