Steven Silva Rodrigues played the first half of a crucial victory for Leixoes over Benfica B as they continue their push for promotion.

Leixoes 1-0 Benfica B

Steven picked up a yellow card in first half stoppage time and was subsequently replaced by a more attack-minded player in Gonšalo Graša.

The move paid off in the 56th minute when Graša assisted Luis Silva's goal, the only tally of the game.

Despite the score line the home team controlled the game throughout. It was a physical match though, with ten total yellow cards, including Steven's.

The victory was the fourth in five games for Leixoes, who temporarily moved into fourth place in Portugal's second division.

Leixoes will next take on Naval on 2/28.

Notes:

Tony Taylor was not involved in Estoril's impressive 3-1 comeback win over traditional Lisbon powerhouse Sporting.

Likewise, Caleb Patterson-Sewell watched from the bench as Vitoria de Setubal defeated Beira-Mar 1-0.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
