TABE RETURNS TO TOP FLIGHT
Etchu Tabe is Veikkausliiga-bound.
JAMIE HILL - Monday, November 29, 2010
Etchu Tabe will be playing first division soccer once again in 2011. The Cameroonian-American defender signed a contract extension with Finnish club RoPS, who recently earned promotion to the Veikkausliiga after taking home the second division title.

The former Georgia Southwestern State man began his professional career in neighboring Sweden in 2008 with Ljungskile SK.

Tabe spent the 2008 season in the Allsvenskan and the 2009 season in the Superettan after the club suffered relegation during his rookie year.

In early 2010, Tabe signed on with RoPS, which hails from Rovaniemi, a town that bills itself as the official home of Santa Claus.

The striker-cum-centerback will join the growing list of Americans based in Finland: Daniel Antunez (Inter Turku), Brian Pope and Greg Eckhardt (VPS), and Mason Trafford, Giuseppe Funicello, Lamar Neagle, and Josh Wicks (IFK Mariehamn).
