There is no timetable set for when Agbossoumonde can play
CLINT WADDELL - Tuesday, September 20, 2011
On the last day of the transfer window, Gale Agbossoumonde signed with Eintracht Frankfurt to play for the Under-23 team.

The team's original plan was to see what the American could do in the U-23s, and then eventually move up to the first team.

That looks like it might not be possible.

Maybe the deal was completed a little too quickly, because Frankfurt failed to see that as a non-EU player, Agbossoumonde does not have clearance from the German Soccer Federation (DFB) to play in Germany's regional league (Eintracht's U-23 team is currently in the Regionalliga Süd).

Agbossoumonde has a contract with Frankfurt for one year and has been training with the first team since his signing. His only game so far was in a friendly, where he played the last 20 minutes with the first team.

Frankfurt is still hoping that they will be able to bend the DFB's rules to get "Boss" cleared for the U-23s. The Togo-born player will have to hope that he can impress Eintracht coach Armin Veh enough to be included in the Bundesliga squad.

Agbossoumonde came from Djurgarden, where he played in eight games.
