WOOTEN SCORES HAT-TRICK
Wooten has been on fire this season

US U-23 forward Andrew Wooten scored hat-trick today for Kaiserslautern's U-23 team in a 4-3 win over Fortuna Koln.

Wooten, 22, has begun to break into Kaiserslautern's first team as he made his Bundesliga debut on March 3 when he came on as a substitute in a 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg.

Wooten's numbers for Kaiserslautern's U-23 team in the Regionalliga have been terrific as he now has 18 goals on the season through 22 games. He has also now scored in eight straight FCK U-23 games.

Yesterday US U-23 head coach Caleb Porter released his Olympic Qualifying roster and Wooten's name was not included. It is unclear if Wooten was not released by his club or whether Porter did not invite him.

Either way, Kaiserslautern's offense continues to be completely ineffective as they sit in last place in the Bundesliga and have scored just 16 goals through 25 games. With the offensive production so low, Wooten will hope to continue to break into the team and provide a spark that could help move the club out of the relegation zone.
