Altidore's future in the May/June US games may be in question
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Wednesday, May 2, 2012
US international forward Jozy ALtidore was subbed out of today's AZ Alkmaar game with an apparent head injury.

Just weeks ahead of the US MNT set to open camp in Florida ahead of friendlies against Scotland, Brazil, and Canada followed by World Cup qualifying, Altidore's injury could be problematic for the US team.

Details of Altidore's injury are expected in hours and days ahead, but Dutch reports suggest that Altidore hit the sideline boards with his head and was knocked out unconscious.

Altidore is one of the few forward options Klinsmann has and the position is considered shallow. Others in contention are Santos Laguna's Herculez Gomez, LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle, Borussia Dortumund U23's Terrence Boyd, Kansas City's CJ Sapong, and Kaiserslautern's Andrew Wooten. New York's Juan Agudelo is expected to resume training this week but he has been out since Olympic qualifying in late March.
