Our thoughts are with the Gromstad and Stabaek families.
MATHEW WAGNER - Monday, May 14, 2012
Stabæk's season took a tragic turn Monday morning, when Tor-Marius Gromstad was found dead at a construction site in Oslo, Norway.

The 22-year-old defender was reported missing Saturday night. He left his brother's apartment in Bislett, Oslo, without a phone or wallet at 7:26 that morning and was not seen afterward. Police, teammates and fans searched a day and a half before his body was found.

Stabæk's players, coaches and employees were notified of the death Monday morning.

The investigation into his death is ongoing, although at this point, no foul play is suspected.

Gromstad moved to Stabæk from Arendal in 2007. He made his debut for the team on July 21, 2008, in a 5-1 rout of Fredrikstad and made 43 appearances in a Stabæk uniform.

A teammate of Americans Sean Cunningham, Ricardo Clark and Mikkel Diskerud, he started six matches for Stabæk in 2012- his last in May 4th's 3-1 loss to Rosenborg.

Stabæk currently sits in last place of the 16-team Norwegian Tippeligaen.

The team has postponed its match Wednesday against Vålerenga, along with the reserve team's match against Asker on Monday. The team has created a memorial by the track at Nadderud Stadium.
