According to numerous reports out of England, Clint Dempsey has been fined by Fulham for refusing to play this weekend.

As punishment, Fulham have fined Dempsey.

This latest turn of events likely signals the end of a career at Fulham which began in 2007 and saw the American international score 60 goals in all competitions for the Premier League club.

Dempsey, 29, has one more year left on his current contract with Fulham but it is no secret that he wants to be transferred to another club who has the ability to play in the UEFA Champions League.

In 2007, Dempsey left the New England Revolution in difficult circumstances after MLS turned down a bit from Charlton Athletic in 2006.

The end of the summer transfer window is now only two weeks away and Dempsey will likely have a new club before then.
