HOLDEN TO REJOIN THE USMNT
Holden will rejoin the USMNT this summer
Stuart Holden is on his way back to the US national team for the first time since 2010.
On Thursday night US national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced on Thursday night on US Soccer's home page that he intended to call up the 27 year old Holden not just for the May-June friendlies and qualifiers but also for this summer's Gold Cup.
While playing in a Premier League game for Bolton against Manchester United in March 2011, Holden suffered a serious injury when a harsh tackle from Jonny Evans required surgery.
After several setbacks including micro-fracture surgery, Holden eventually made his return to the field in January for Bolton who were relegated in his absence.
In March, Holden went on a successful month-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday where he began to earn consistent minutes. He has since rejoined Bolton where he hopes to be part of their push to make the the promotional playoffs in an effort to return to the Premier League next year.
