Dolo is set for his second surgery of 2013

Hannover and USMNT right back Steve Cherundolo's injury woes continue as the 34 year old is set to have knee surgery Friday.

The man with 87 international caps to his name collided with a teammate in pre-season training Tuesday, causing pain in his left knee. It will be his second knee surgery of 2013 after the Chicago native had an arthroscopic procedure in February.

After meeting with Dr Philipp Lobenhoffer the decision was made to operate on the joint, the same one that was operated on back in February. Hannover has not provided any timetable for Cherundolo's return.

The University of Portland product already chose to skip the summer's national team action to help ensure his health for the 2014 World Cup.

Cherundolo is Hannover 96's all time appearance leader with 300 in the Bundesliga to his credit. The one club man was named the team's captain in 2010.
