Bradley needs a miracle

Next weekend promises to be a nail-biter in Ligue 2 for Bob Bradley and Le Havre.

The league fixture over the weekend was a tough one for HAC as they had to go on the road to face Auxerre. However, the fourth place team worked hard to earn a 3-1 win over their opposition to guarantee that the fight for the third and final promotion spot up to Ligue 1 remained on until the final games on May 14.

The visitors went down a goal in the 26th minute through Auxerre defender Sebastien Puygrenier.

Le Havre kept their composure and found the equalizer 10 minutes later through their forward Joseph Mendes. He would later score a second for the team four minutes into the second half.

Fellow attacker Lys Mousset iced the game for Le Havre as he scored the team's third goal five minutes into stoppage time.

The win keeps Normandy-based side three points behind Metz, who just beat Tours 2-1 on the same day.

Here is where things get a little tricky.

Le Havre will have an easy home game home game against Bourg en Bresse 01, while Metz will face tougher opposition on the road against Lens. If Le Havre win and Metz lose, then promotion is not necessarily guaranteed for Bradley's men as they have to score six or more goals in their game and hope that Metz remain scoreless or Lens opens the floodgates to reduce that goal differential.

It may seem like an improbable task, but this is the beauty of soccer. Fans of the former U.S. national team boss can only hope that he can pull it off on the last weekend of the Ligue 2 season.
