American youth international Tony Taylor is headed to Portugal
BRIAN SCIARETTA - Tuesday, December 15, 2009
YA has learned today that USA U20 forward, Tony Taylor, has come to terms with Estoril FC of the Portuguese second division, Liga Vitalis.

Estoril FC will hope that the acquisition of Tony Taylor will be able to push the side towards promotion. The club currently sits in fifth place with 19 points. They trail Liga Vitalis leader, Santa Clara, by five points.

Taylor was the starting forward for the 2009 U20 World Cup team that failed to advance out of group play. In that tournament during the USA's 4-1 victory over Cameroon, the speedy Taylor assisted Bryan Arguez for the opening goal and later scored after making a long run and converting a pass from midfielder Dilly Duka.

Taylor was previously a forward for Jacksonville University. He gave up his college career this summer when he signed a professional contract with the Brazilian management company, Traffic Sports. The transition to Estoril FC should not be that difficult for Taylor as Traffic Sports also manages Estoril and Taylor has spent time in the past training with the club.
