Herculez Gomez and Santos Laguna beat the Houston Dynamo handily in the second leg quarterfinal matchup in the CONCACAF Champions League, and advance to the next round with the aggregate win.

After Houston took a one goal lead in the first leg game in Houston, Santos emphatically made a comeback with goals from Juan Pablo Rodriguez, Gomez, and Marc Crosas.

The Mexican team had the majority of the possession in the first minutes of the game and were rewarded with a goal in the 23rd minute. Houston's Warren Creavalle fouled Oribe Peralta in the box, resulting in a penalty kick. Rodriguez' initial shot was saved by Tally Hall, but the Santos player was able to knock in the rebound.

Just five minutes later Santos doubled their lead after Gomez took advantage of miscommunication between Hall and Bobby Boswell, and slipped the ball into the back of the net.

Already with the aggregate lead, Santos put the series away in the 77th minute when Osmar Mares sent in a ball into the box that Crosas slotted passed Hall.

Aside from a couple of half chances on set pieces, Houston was never able to consistently pressure the home team.

Having the 3-1 aggregate win, Santos moves on to the semifinals to take on the Seattle Sounders, while Houston gets back to league action this weekend against FC Dallas.
