Timothy Chander is the latest American to be a questions mark for the upcoming national team games beginning at the end of May.

Chandler, 23, suffered ligament damage in his left knee and will miss FC Nurnberg's final two games against Fortuna Dusseldorf and Werder Bremen.

Nurnberg's press officer Katharina Wildermuth confirmed the information to YA on Tuesday.

It is not clear that Chandler will miss the entire national team schedule this summer as the initial reports indicated that he will be out for three to four weeks. For the US team, it now leaves question marks as to who will backup Steve Cherundolo at right back.

Chandler first began playing for the US national team in 2011 under former head coach Bob Bradley but has missed long stretches stemming from an unwillingness to commit to the US team. This past February, he was formally cap tied after starting a World Cup qualifier against Honduras.
