RECAP: SKIVE 3 - 1 HJØRRING
RJ Allen and Skive got the best of Hjørring on Wednesday night, breaking away in the second half to defeat their distracted opponents.
Allen played the second half in defense for his team, while Babajide Ogunbiyi took up his usual post in the center of Hjørring's back four.
Skive were quick to gain the advantage, as a quick break allowed Anders Hostrup to streak past defenders Mark Westergaard and Christian Christiansen, and beat keeper Karim Zaza for the tenth-minute lead.
This lasted all of 16 minutes, with Hjørring equalizing after the Skive defense hesitated and poorly cleared the ball out of their area, allowing Michael Byskov the chance to pull even at one goal apiece.
Hostrup struck again ten minutes after the halftime intermission again on a fast-break situation, with Rune Nautrup darting up the right side and firing in a perfect cross from Hostrup to put away for 2-1.
They added an insurance goal in the 66th minute, with Nautrup again providing the assist with a cross from the right which Mikkel Buur smashed into goal to secure the valuable win.
The victory gives Skive now a four-point cushion ahead of the relegation places with four games left, however it may be of little importance due to the off-field troubles of their opponents.
Hjørring are six points ahead of the drop zone, but were refused a license to play in the First Division next season by the Danish FA, and could be automatically relegated pending the outcome of their appeal.
Hjørring will be back on the field on Sunday when they host Fredericia while Skive will visit promotion candidates Viborg also on Sunday.
