RECAP: THOR 1 - 3 IBV
After a climb to midtable in Iceland's Premier League, Thor hit a setback in a loss to IBV
Chuck Chijindu and Joe Funicello got the start while Josh Wicks made the bench for Thor in its loss to former England goalkeeper David James and his team IBV.
Chijindu went the distance in the match up while Funicello left the game after 80 minutes of action and Thor needing goals. Wicks again played no part in the second game since he left the team's victory over Keflavik with an injury in the second half.
Thor were unlucky to go behind in the 24th minute when Hlynur Magnusson scored an own goal.
It took only two minutes for IBV to double their lead and again it was a Thor own goal. The goalkeeper Srdjan Rajkovic scored the own goal in the 26th minute, leaving the home side wondering how the team could be so unlucky.
IBV had their third in the 37th minute when forward Vidir Thorvardarson became the first IBV player to score a goal on the day.
Thor pulled a goal back in the 43rd minute when midfield veteran Armann Evarsson scored.
Chijindu, Funicello, and Thor couldn't respond with the kind of second half needed to come back and IBV took all three points.
The loss sees Thor drop down to eighth place in the Urvalsdeild with 13 points from 11 games on the year. Up next for the club from the north, another home match this time against fourth place Breidablik on Sunday.
