PREVIEW: WEEKEND GERMAN ACTION
Continuing his hot play from last season, Matt Taylor hopes to lead Münster to another win this weekend when they visit Red Bull Arena to face upstarts RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig - Preußen Münster
Following a commanding win in their first match of the season, Matt Taylor and Münster look to carry over that momentum at Leipzig on Saturday.
Taylor opened up the goal-scoring for Münster last weekend in the team's 3-0 win over Wacker Burghausen, a match in which the team dominated its opponents. Considering the Eagles have promotion aspirations, it was a good start toward their goal.
Supported by the energy drink Red Bull, it took Leipzig four years to go from the Oberliga NOFV-Süd (the fifth tier in German soccer) to the 3.Liga.
Leipzig should be a strong test for Münster, as the Bulls started off its first year in Germany's third tier with flying colors, a 1-0 win in a local derby at Halle.
Defender Kevin Schöneberg will miss the match for Münster with a shin injury, while Leipzig's Joshua Kimmich is also unavailable because of a shin injury.
Andrew Wooten should make Kaiserslautern's bench for the Red Devils' match against Ingolstadt on Friday. Alfredo Morales is unavailable for Ingolstadt because of the red card he received in the Schanzer's 2-1 opening-day loss to Aue.
Bobby Wood will be a bench option for 1860 Munich coach Alexander Schmidt in the Lions' home opener against FSV Frankfurt on Sunday.
Jerome Kiesewetter will hope to dress for Stuttgart on Friday against Darmstadt.
Royal-Dominique Fennell continues to recover from a groin surgery he had last January and will miss the Stuttgarter Kickers' match at Wiesbaden on Saturday.
