Fortuna Sittard 5 - 2 Helmond Sport

Charles Kazlauskas went the distance for Helmond on Sunday as they were demolished by Fortuna Sittard on the road.

Patrick N'koyi opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute. The Congolese striker latched onto a long pass from Sjoerd Linssen and finished neatly into the far corner. 11 minutes later, Abdelaziz Khalouta doubled the hosts lead, making it 2-0 in the 30th minute.

Marc Koot's 36th minute own goal added to Helmond's woes, but the visitors were able to regroup and Mark Janssen scored to give Helmond a glimmer of hope, making it 3-1 in the 41st minute. However, N'koyi tallied a second goal one minute into first half stoppage time to expand the lead to 4-1.

Helmond looked better in the second half, and a 58th minute Ferry de Regt header brought the score back to 4-2, but a 67th minute Gevaro Nepomuceno 25 yard strike put Fortuna back up by three goals for good.

Koen Weuts, Juanito Sequeira and Kevin Visser all received yellow cards for Helmond while N'Koyi was the only Fortuna player to receive one.

Helmond face Dodrecht next Friday in the Eerste Divisie while Fortuna will take on PSV's youth team.
