Terrence Boyd doubled his team's lead early in the first half and the score would finish that way to see Rapid Vienna defeat SV Ried.

In the 17th minute, the American striker fought for some space near the goal line during a corner kick for Rapid. Louis Schaub whipped in the corner to the near post where Boyd met it and headed it home.

Less than 10 minutes earlier Rapid had opened up the scoring with a beautifully worked goal. Christopher Trimmel combined with Schaub to find space on the right side behind the Ried defense. Trimmel squared the ball across to Guido Burgstaller who made no mistake.

Vienna largely controlled the rest of the match. SV Ried had few chances to make their way back into the match, their best being a close range header over the bar from Robert Zulj.

The result pulls both teams level on 15 points in the table, with Rapid Vienna ahead on goal difference. Vienna's next match is again at home when they take on Wolfsberger AC on Saturday.
