PREVIEW: WEEKEND GERMAN ACTION
Back after the international break, Tim Chandler will play under an interim manager, while Matt Taylor and Münster will look to increase their advantage over the relegation zone.
Eintracht Frankfurt - FC Nürnberg
Tim Chandler and Nürnberg come out of the international break with an interim coach and a match at Frankfurt on Saturday.
Following Der Club's 5-0 shellacking against Hamburg on October 6, Nürnberg fired coach Michael Wiesinger the next day, leaving Roger Prinzen in charge of the team until a suitable replacement is found.
Whoever will get the job has a lot of work ahead of him, as the Franken sit in the relegation playoff spot and haven't won a competitive match this season.
Dealing with a European campaign this season, Frankfurt started off slow, but the team is riding a seven-match unbeaten streak across all competitions after losing to Dortmund on September 1.
This includes a perfect record in the Europa League group stage and and advancement into the third round of the DFB Pokal.
Der Club will be without Markus Feulner because of a knee injury, Daniel Ginczek because of a broken toe and Timo Gebhart because of a suspension stemming from an off-the-field altercation.
Frankfurt will not have Jan Rosenthal, Pirmin Schwegler and Johannes Flum with a calf injury, a knee injury and a suspension.
Preußen Münster - Borussia Dortmund II
Matt Taylor and Münster host Dortmund's second team on Saturday, looking to carry over some momentum from before the international break.
The Eagles snapped a 10-match winless streak across all competitions with a 4-0 win over Chemnitz on October 6, scoring as many goals as they had in the previous five matches combined. The win gave Münster a three-point cushion over the relegation zone.
Dortmund's reserve team, meanwhile, sits in 11th place in the 3.Liga with 17 points, five points ahead of Münster. The Schwarzgelben also come into the match after a 4-0 win and have lost only one out of their last six matches in league play.
For Saturday's match, Kevin Schönberg will miss for Münster, as he is currently serving a red card suspension.
Dortmund will not have a list of players available, including Hendrik Bonmann with a hip injury, Oguzhan Kefkir with a knee injury, Julian Derstroff with an ankle injury and Jeremy Serwy with a torn thigh muscle.
Fabian Johnson's status for Hoffenheim's match against Leverkusen on Friday is doubtful, as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
Steve Cherundolo might make the matchday 18 for Hannover 96 when the Reds travel to Dortmund on Saturday.
Still dealing with a meniscus problem and in his coach's doghouse, Jermaine Jones will hope to make Schalke's lineup this Saturday at Braunschweig.
Hertha coach Jos Luhukay said Saturday's match against Borussia Mönchengladbach is too soon for John Anthony Brooks to return to match action.
Michael Parkhurst will likely not make Augsburg's lineup when the Fuggerstädter host Wolfsburg on Sunday.
Andrew Wooten will hope to dress for Kaiserslautern on Sunday against Karlsruhe in 2.Bundesliga action.
Alfredo Morales should be a bench option for Ingolstadt against Düsseldorf on Sunday.
Bobby Wood will look to make 1860 Munich bench when the Lions travel to Cologne on Monday.
Royal-Dominique Fennell will be at least on the bench for the Stuttgarter Kickers against Hansa Rostock on Saturday.
