RECAP: AJACCIO 0 - 1 NANTES
Alejandro Bedoya was a late substitute for FC Nantes last Saturday, but he came on just in time to hit the winning goal.
Playing at AC Ajaccio, Nantes was tied 0-0 when Bedoya came on in the 81st minute for Jordan Veretout.
In the 87th minute, Filip Djordjevic crossed the ball into the six-yard box and Bedoya was there to knock the ball between two Ajaccio defenders and into goal.
For Bedoya, this goal marks his first score in Ligue 1 since transferring in August. It was a long-awaited but well deserved reward for Bedoya's strong recent form as both his club and international career continue to thrive.
For Nantes, the goal stretches their remarkable winning streak to four games and has the club currently sitting in fourth place in the Ligue 1standings.
Despite Bedoya's last minute heroics, however, three players for Nantes- Chaker Alhadhur, Papy Djilobodji, and Oswaldo Vizcarrondo- received yellow cards. For Ajaccio, meanwhile, Johan Cavalli and Ronald Zubar were given yellow cards.
Still, the win should have the Canaries of Nantes flying high as they head host Lille OSC next week. This is a pivotal matchup for Bedoya and Nantes, as Lille sits directly ahead of them in the Ligue 1 table by a mere one point.
Ajaccio, meanwhile, must go on the road to face En Avant de Guingamp.
