RECAP: USA 2 - 2 MEXICO
It was a tale of two halves for the United States as they drew with their rivals Mexico Wednesday night 2-2 after conceding two goals in the second half.
The United States got off to a flying start. In the 15th minute, Brad Davis sent in a corner kick, who found a running Michael Bradley streaking towards the back post. Bradley got a touch on the ball and pushed it into the back of the net.
Just 13 minutes later, the US pulled another goal in front. A cross from Tony Beltran was headed on from Bradley, who reached the diving leg of forward Chris Wondolowski. The San Jose striker finished to the center of the net, and put the USA on top.
As the game approached halftime, it seemed that the United States would run away with the result, but it was Mexico who had the final say.
Just after the break, defender Rafa Marquez found himself all alone in the center of the box on a corner kick, and made no mistake. Keeper Nick Rimando could do nothing about it, and watched helplessly as the ball sailed past.
The disastrous second half continued for the American defense in the 67th minute, when Alan Pulido leveled the game after a rebound off the post.
The United States will return to action in May when they begin their preparations for the World Cup.
