PREVIEW: WEEKEND NORWEGIAN ACTION
KENYA BROWN - Saturday, August 30, 2014
Michael Stephens and Andrew Jacobson look to help Stabaek continue their push up the standings, while Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg head on the road to take on Viking this weekend in Norway.

Stabaek - Sandnes Ulf

The Blue Ones welcome Sandnes Ulf to the Nadderud Stadium looking to pull themselves further away from the relegation battle that is going on just beneath them.

Bob Bradley's team has been playing well as of late. In their encounters against the top four teams this month they have been able to walk away with two wins and a tie, with the only loss coming against Odd. This weekend they start a stretch of three games against sides below them in the standings - and they should not have any problems collecting all the points in those games.

First in their sights in Sandnes Ulf, a team that is certainly bound for relegation from the Tippeligaen. The last place team has gone winless in their past nine games leaving them rooted to the bottom of the standings with 13 points.

Stephens and Jacobson will once again find themselves in the starting line up as Stabaek look to continue their run of good form.

Viking FK - Rosenborg

Rosenborg will head to Viking Stadium to take on the seventh place team in hopes adding more pressure on Stromsgodset for the second Europa League.

The Troll Kids will not be happy with their performance this season as they have been eliminated from title contention, but they can salvage their season by claiming third place in the league to qualify for Europe. One of the top players for the team this season has been forward Alexander Soderlund. The Norwegian, who has 14 goals so far this season, has been on a scoring tear recently as he has scored five goals in the past three games.

Diskerud should have a place in the starting line up as Rosenborg look to chalk up another win.

Viking will prove to be a tough team to crack as they have gone unbeaten in their past seven games. The team is also in contention for the last Europa League place as they are only five points behind Stromsgodset. A win by them this weekend put themselves into the thick of the race.

Notes

Jeb Brovsky will look to make it back into the team as Stromsgodset go on the road to take on Aalesund.

Josh Gatt and Erik Horvath's Molde side will head to Brann as they look to solidify their hold on the top spot.
