Vitesse continued to dominate the game in the second half, with Lewis Baker, Milot Rashica and Nathan missing excellent chances to break the deadlock. However, it would be the visitors that would find the back of the net and walk away with all three points.

Dico Koppers scored Willem II's first in the 84th minute when he raced into the box to fire the ball into the back of the net.

Obbi Oulare sealed the win for the team four minutes into stoppage time when the Belgian beat Vitesse goalkeeper Eloy Room with his shot.
