RECAP: WEEKEND GERMAN RECAP
It was a quiet weekend for most of the Americans in the Bundesliga, with Timmy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt ending on the losing end against Wolfsburg.
Eintracht Frankfurt 0-2 Wolfsburg
Daniel Didavi and Mario Gomez scored the goals that helped Wolfsburg to a much-needed win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena.
Chandler started for the Eagles and played the entire game.
Eintracht has no chance of qualifying for a European place as they flirted with the possibility of securing a spot for much of the season. Now, their main task is to just finish the season strong. Meanwhile, their opponents are still in the fight for their survival in the Bundesliga as they still remain in the lower half of the standings.
Didavi opened the scoring for Wolfsburg in the 48th minute when he ran onto a through ball from Gomez and fired his shot past Eintracht goalkeeper Lucas Hradecky.
Gomez added the visitor's second goal in the 63rd minute with ease as teammate Paul Ntep slipped past his marker before running into the area with the ball and crossing it over to the German international to tap in.
Eintracht sits in 11th place in the standings with 41 points.
