Timothy Weah will be looking to live up to the family name just like his father as the US youth international signed his first professional contract with Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG made the announcement on Monday that the team and the US Under-17 national team forward finalized the deal that will run until 2020.

The 17-year-old, who is the son of former Liberian international George Weah, was born in New York and had joined PSG in 2014. This past season he played for the youth team, in which he was a starter.

I'm very proud to continue my adventure with Paris Saint-Germain by signing this professional contract. I'm with a great club and I can't wait to continue making progress towards my goal of one day playing for the senior team," said Weah on the PSG website.

Weah appears to be a promising player for both his club team and the U-17s as he hopes to fill one of the roster spots for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.
