US youth international Andrija Novakovich has signed a new contract with English Championship team Reading and will head out on loan to Dutch Eerste Divisie team SC Telstar.

Reading made the announcement on Monday as the team and the 20-year-old agreed to terms on a contract that will run until the summer of 2019.

On the same day, Novakovich signed his new contract it was announced that he will head to the Dutch second division to play for SC Telstar. The team wrapped up its season in 16th place in the standings with 40 points and will be looking to improve their fortunes in the upcoming season.

This will be the forward's second loan spell as his first came in the 2015-2016 season with Cheltenham Town.

Novakovich spent last season with Reading's Under-23 team in which he scored 16 goals during their campaign.
