RECAP: WEEKEND ENGLISH ACTION
It was rough outings for Danny Williams and DeAndre Yedlin over the weekend as their respective teams suffered heavily in English Premier League action.
Bournemouth 4-0 Huddersfield Town
A hat-trick from Callum Wilson steered Bournemouth to a very comfortable win over Huddersfield Town at the Vitality Stadium.
Williams started for the Terriers and only saw action in the first half in their loss as David Wagner coached his 100th game for the team on the day.
Wilson scored the Cherries first goal in the 26th minute when he headed in a corner kick from teammate Jordan Ibe.
The forward doubled the host's lead five minutes later when he beat the offside trap to steer the ball past Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.
Bournemouth had the lead, but would go down a man before halftime when the referee sent off Simon Francis for getting his second yellow card in the game.
Despite the visitor's efforts to get back into the game, Harry Arter made it 3-0 in the 70th minute for Bournemouth when he stole the ball, ran towards the area and fired his shot past Lossl.
Wilson bagged his hat-trick in the 84th minute when teammate Joshua King squared his pass to the forward and he made sure that ball hit the back of net.
The loss puts Huddersfield in 10th place in the standings with 15 points.
Manchester United 4-1 Newcastle United
There was nothing DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle could do to stop Manchester United as the Red Debvils romped to a big win at Old Trafford.
The game marked the return of Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba, who was out of action for weeks due to a hamstring injury, as he was big influence in their win.
However, the host would fall behind in the 14th minute as Dwight Gayle gave the Magpies a shock lead when Victor Lindelof slipped and allowed the forward to take his chance at goal.
It all Manchester United afterwards as Anthony Martial leveled the score in the 37th minute as he headed in the ball following a cross from Pogba.
Chris Smalling gave Manchester the lead before the halftime whistle when Ashley Young's cross in the area found the defender, who headed the ball in from close range.
Manchester kept the momentum going in the second half and Pogba extended their lead in the 54th minute when Romelu Lukaku's cross was headed on by Marcus Rashford into the path of the French midfielder, who comfortably tapped the ball into the goal.
Lukaku got on the scoresheet in the 70th minute when he teamed up with Juan Mata to blast his shot past Newcastle goalkeeper Robert Elliot.
