CCV, SPURS SIGN NEW CONTRACT
KENYA BROWN - Friday, May 18, 2018
Cameron Carter-Vickers will be looking to fight his way into the first team for English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur as both sides agreed to a contract extension.

News of the extension, which came on Wednesday, comes after the young center back was sent out out loan in the just concluded season to Championship teams Sheffield United and Ipswich Town respectively.

Carter-Vickers, 20, expressed his excitement on signing the new deal as he hopes to continue making progress with the Londoners.

"I'm delighted to sign a new contract. I've worked hard out on loan this season, trying to get as many minutes and games as I could. I feel like I've improved as a player and it's definitely benefited me, to be out at Sheffield United and Ipswich. I enjoyed my time at both clubs, the players there and coaching staff there have all been really helpful towards me and helped my development," he said in a statement on Tottenham's official website.

"I feel like I've improved a lot, though, and it gave me great experience going out on loan. Now I'm looking to kick on. The next step for me is to come back for pre-season, get my head down, work hard and try to impress the manager and as many people as I can."

The English-born defender will be looking to impress Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino during the preseason as the team will be playing in a brand new stadium.
