Timothy Chandler continued his hot form as he scored twice to help Eintracht Frankfurt to a big win over Augsburg while Chris Richards scored the game-winner in Bayern Munich II's victory in the 3. Liga.

Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 Augsburg

Eintracht Frankfurt have been rolling since the new year and they continued their excellent form with a comprehensive win over Augsburg at the Commerzbank Arena.

Timothy Chandler started the game for Frankfurt and played the entire 90 minutes as he continued to show how much of threat he can be since head coach Adi Huetter moved him to the midfield from his normal right-back position.

And the change paid off once again as the 29-year-old scored his first goal on the night in the 37th minute. Dominik Kohr played the ball to Chandler in the area, and he finished it off with a right-footed strike that beat Augsburg goalkeeper Tomas Koubek.

Chandler continued his goal-scoring magic in the second half when he headed in a Filip Kostic corner kick in the 48th minute to double the Eagles' lead. Koubek got a hand on the ball but it wasn't enough to keep it from crossing the goal line.

Andre Silva extended the host's lead seven minutes in a textbook play as Kostic's cross from the left side was meet by the Portuguese international to head into the goal.

It was then Kostic's time to turn from provider to goalscorer as he bagged his first in the 89th minute when he pounced a cross from Almamy Toure to fire in a blistering left-footed strike.

The Serbian added his second a minute later Augsburg backline fumbled with the ball, allowing Sebastian Rode to take control of it and send the ball into the path of the left-winger to slam home.

Another strong win for Frankfurt as they look to at least close the gap on the Europa League spot currently held by Schalke.

Eintracht Frankfurt have now moved up to ninth place in the standings with 28 points.

Viktoria Koln 2-4 Bayern Munich II

It was a flurry of goals on the day but Bayern Munich II would prove to be too strong for Viktoria Koln as they came away with the win at the Sportpark.

Chris Richards started once again in his normal center-back position and played the full 90 as he continues to show his development is going along just fine.

Okyere Wriedt broke the scoreless deadlock for the Bavarian reserves in the 14th minute when ran onto a through-ball from teammate Jeong Woo-Yeong to slot his effort past Koln goalkeeper Andre Weis.

That single goal left the visitors with the advantage as both sides headed into their respective dressing rooms at halftime, but the excitement would come in the second interval.

The host would level the score in the 58th minute when some great team passing saw Simon Handle run onto a lobbed ball and he did well to control it to get it past Bayern goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl before putting it into the back of the net.

However, Bayern would retake the lead 10 minutes later through Sarpreet Singh as Koln failed to clear the ball from their area following a free-kick, allowing the Australian to fire a half-volleyed shot into the goal.

Koln responded again with another equalizer in the 82nd minute when Anthony Lewerenz curled in a beauty of a goal following a pass from teammate Patrick Koronkiewicz.

The host put up a valiant effort, but their opponents still had a lot left in the tank as Richards would go on to provide the game-winner in the 89th minute. The young American center-back would be on the spot to head in a cross from Wriedt to guarantee they would take all three points.

Singh would add an insurance goal deep in stoppage time as Koln made one last attempt to score another equalizer when they sent their goalkeeper up field to contest a corner kick. However, they paid for the gamble in the end as the midfielder scored in the open goal.

Bayern Munich II have moved up to 11th place in the 3. Liga standings with 32 points.

In other action from the Bundesliga, Weston McKennie surrendered a late goal to see them share the points with Paderborn following 1-1 tie.

Alfredo Morales and Fortuna Dusseldorf scored early but allowed Wolfsburg to find a second-half equalizer as their game ended in a 1-1 tie. John Brooks was on the bench for the Wolves and it looks like it will be a while before he gets back into the line-up.

Tyler Adams went the distance for the first time this season for RB Leipzig as they played to a 0-0 tie with Bayern Munich to remain a point behind the leaders.

Giovanni Reyna came off the bench at the start of the second half as Borussia Dortmund allowed Bayer Leverkusen to come back in the game to go down in a 4-3 loss.

Josh Sargent came off the bench but could not provide the spark for Werder Bremen as they fell to Union Berlin by a 2-0 scoreline.

In the 2. Bundesliga, Jann George and Jahn Regensburg were on the wrong end of a 6-0 hammering by Arminia Bielefeld.

Timothy Tillman watched on from the bench as Greuther Furth fell to Hannover in a 3-1 loss.
