DeAndre Yedlin has left Newcastle United to join Turkish Super Lig team Galatasaray on a free transfer.

The U.S. men's national team defender has signed a deal with the Turkish giants that runs until summer 2023 and will net him around 2.6 million ($3.1m/2.3m).

The right-back spent four and a half years at Newcastle, having joined from Tottenham in 2016, and made six Premier League appearances for Steve Bruce's side this season.

DeAndre Yedlin, who was on a contract until this summer at Newcastle United, was allowed to leave on a free transfer and has joined Galatasaray SK in the Turkish top flight.

The 62-time capped USA international, who played his college soccer for Akron University, joined the Seattle Sounders in 2012 and was promoted to the first team the following year and spent two seasons with the MLS side, before starting his English Premiership adventure with Tottenham Hotspur. From there he went on loan to Sunderland FC before being sold to Newcastle United in the summer of 2016. During his four and a half years with the Magpies, the Seattle native featured 112 times, scoring on three occasions.

The 27-year-old has signed on with the 22-time Turkish champions until the summer of 2022.
