Helmond Sport was bounced out of the KNVB Cup in Holland after giving up three goals to FC Twente on Wednesday evening.

American Charles Kazlauskas started in midfield, picking up a yellow card early in the second half, and saw his team loose to the Eredivisie leaders.

In the 15th minute Bryan Ruiz nearly put the home team ahead when he fired over the wall on a free-kick from just outside the penalty area but Robert van Westerop was able to grab the weak effort.

Luuk de Jong broke in to the area in the 36th minute and finished past van Westerop to give Twente the one goal lead.

Ruiz, the Costa Rican, added his own goal in the 80th after sprinting in to the penalty area and slicing a ball past the defense to give the team a two-goal lead.

The visitors were reduced to ten men in the 83rd minute when Mark Veldmate picked up his second yellow card of the game from official Jan Wegereef.

de Jong headed home for his second off South African stiker Bernard Parker's cross in the 90th minute.

The club will take a break for the holidays before starting Jupiler League play again on Friday January 15th against Haarlem FC.
