PREVIEW: BLACKBURN - ASTON VILLA
Brad Guzan should continue his role in goal for Villa's Carling Cup run as they travel to Blackburn for the previously-postponed semifinal fist leg while Brad Friedel will watch his protegee from the bench.
The Villans are playing only their second game since the turn of the New Year, their last outing being a 3-1 FA Cup third-round win over the same opposition on the 2nd of January at Villa Park, with Guzan having given yet another standout cup performance.
Blackburn are struggling as of late, having only picked up one point at Ewood Park in their last two home games, and just two overall in their last six outings.
Villa have seen the opposite of fortunes, picking up six points out of nine possible in their recent travels, with only two defeats in their last six games. During this run they have played league heavyweights Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, picking up all three points at Old Trafford.
Craig Davies is the only Villa player out of action while Blackburn's Vince Grella and Brian Emerton may make their returns for the clash. Davies has been out with a dislocated shoulder, while a thigh muscle strain and groin strain keep the Blackburn pair out.
In addition, Rovers' striker Jason Roberts will miss the game with a knee injury while striker El-Hadji Diouf is under suspension after receiving his marching orders during the previous FA Cup clash.
