CLARK CLOSE TO BUNDESLIGA PACT
Eintracht Frankfurt say that they are on the verge of signing US international and former Houston Dynamo midfielder Ricardo Clark.
Ever since last summer's Confederations Cup, Clark has been the subject of rumors regarding a move to Europe including reports of a deal with Italian Serie A club Livorno and various French clubs, all of which proved to be false.
Following the conclusion of the 2009 MLS season, Clark informed the Dynamo that he would not be returning to play for the Texas club and would pursue opportunities in Europe.
The Atlanta, Georgia native trialed with Eintracht and impressed the brass at the German club enough to garner a contract offer which the club says could be made official very soon.
"Ricardo was training now with the team for a second time today and will train with them another time tomorrow morning," confirmed Eintracht team spokesman Carsten Knoop to YA earlier today. "He will undergo a physical examination tomorrow and if that goes fine, then afterwards everything will be decided and we can make an official announcement."
"There are still a couple questions to handle, but everything should be clear tomorrow morning," added Knoop.
Provided the former Furman University standout gets the thumbs up from team doctors, Clark will bring his eight years of MLS experience to the club who sit seventh and are battling for a top five spot in the Bundesliga.
