Struggling to find the field at Milton Keynes Dons, American striker Jemal Johnson has opted for a half-season loan to League One outfit Stockport County.

The Hatters are sitting dead last in League One, without a win in over 15 games. With Johnson on the cusp of first team action with the Dons, Johnson is sure to provide an attacking impetus with his newly found club.

"We have signed Jemal on loan from Dons," Stockport Press Officer Des Hinks explained to Yanks Abroad. "It's a standard loan just running until the end of the season.

"There's no option for purchase after that."

Johnson has already made a mark on Stockport, getting his home debut against Swindon in League One action. The American had several chances, forcing saves from a thunderous strike and a snap header midway through the game.

He will have his chance to help get the Hatters season back on track on Saturday when they travel to Carlisle United in more League One action.
